KQ2050 Spatial Strategy.

Client: Camden Local Authority
Date: 2019 – 2020
Services: Research and vision.

Future Places Studio worked with Camden Local Authority and key stakeholders to support the development of a spatial strategy for the Knowledge Quarter ‘KQ2050’.

As part of the project we interviewed senior leaders across 15 different organisations located in the 1 mile radius of King’s Cross known as the Knowledge Quarter. The purpose of the interviews was to establish:

  1. Shared vision for the location

  2. Challenges of the area

  3. Opportunities

  4. Key themes that a Spatial Strategy should seek to address.

We then presented our findings back to Camden and key stakeholders as part of an insight presentation at which point we made a series of recommendations on the focus of a Spatial Strategy, how it would be delivered and how it would be resourced. Our recommendations formed part of a project plan which will be used to guide the next stage of the project.
