Founded and incubated by Future Places Studio, Sport+ has a specific focus of working on placemaking and strategy projects for sports led destinations.
Our approach is defined by an ambition to re-imagine how the sports sector and sports led infrastructure can interface with the neighbourhood, district and city in which they sit.
Being a part of Future Places Studio enables Sport+ to cross-pollinate the insight and research generated across a portfolio of place based projects and apply the learnings and approaches to projects with a sports focus.
With opportunities to create new revenue streams and enhance the relationship between sport and place, we believe the future of sports led destinations is at an exciting point of change.
As a practice we’ve been at the sharp end of a similar evolution in sectors such as life science, office, retail, hospitality and academia.
Whilst each of our projects vary in scale, characteristics and objectives, a key focus of Sport+ is to work with stadium owners, municipalities and developers to re-position sports led assets as flexible and integrated placemaking anchors and nodes of economic growth. This includes:
Developing a wider place based strategy for the growth and development of sports led locations.
Diversification and intensification of stadiums as a real estate asset increasing revenue opportunities, fan dwell time, fan engagement and fan spend.
Improved place activation of the areas in and around stadiums.
Mixed use development opportunities in and around stadiums.
Positioning stadiums as a core part of place based infrastructure.
